We begin our series with a look at the Amity Group run by the Chauhan family. As the state-run university system failed to keep up with voracious demand, Amity has stepped in and filled a void for youth who cannot get admission elsewhere. But, its climb has not been without controversy.

Education Czars in India
Mint (the business daily from HT in partnership with WSJ) has recently started a series on "Education Czars in India". It aims to cover and highlight entrepreneurs in the education sector - ranging from mainstream education, training setups, test preparation among others. It has started its series by covering Amity - the Noida based private university started by Chauhan family. To quote from Mint:
Nice piece to begin with but would be good to know more details. I am already looking forward to many more stories from the likes of Educomp, Everonn, Career Launcher etc.
